How lucky Cats are!

Paul, yes, my thought exactly.

— In a sense maybe we’re just as ignorant - just more worried about it?

Yes!

Oh, amazing!

The final picture looks exactly like an alpaca dustbathing.

The things I do when I’m bored… wasn’t quite sure about how realistic the last image was going to be, but I’m glad it is somewhat realistic :)

Sally.

Dust-bathing? What Strange creatures they are..

Here are some sulking, Bouncing, Sleuthish, dust-bathing Tasmanian alpacas

Thanks for the link. Yes, that’s all pretty accurate, although I’m not sure I’d just ignore a sulking alpaca. I’d want to know what was wrong.

Jason

Wow, that is only 1/2 hour away from where I live in Tassie! Maybe I could drop by and visit…

Sally.

Good idea, but don’t go buying any!

You’re also welcome to visit ours if you’re ever near Wollongong.

re; sulking alpacas

Yes the article was very indifferent to sulking alpacas.. do they get over it in a few minutes?

also do your alpacas bounce like pepe le pew?

that farm is a few hours from my house; they seem to be only selling alpacas to good homes, making sure they have company; but you think it would be a bad idea to buy one?

Julien

Do they get over it in a few minutes? It depends on their individual personality and on what the “it” was that upset them. But in my experience, typically, yes.

Do ours bounce like Pepe Le Pew? I’m afraid not often. I guess we don’t do enough to keep them excited. :-( They were bouncier when they were young, which I think is normal. They do smell much nicer than Pepe Le Pew though! And they still run happily sometimes — see pic below.

It’s great that they make sure their alpacas have company. But I think it would be a bad idea to buy any animal when so many need to be adopted. I’ve made this mistake myself, but I’m not making it any more.
