Line Break
(fixed, Feb 2014)
main observation

There currently seems to be no way of getting a line break {[blue <br>]} http://i.imgur.com/0DidJo2.png without starting a new paragraph {[blue <par>…</par>]}. http://i.imgur.com/BUrC8O7.png
Could some sort of markup code for line break be included ?
Apparently in markdown, to insert a
linebreak, end a line with two or more spaces followed by a
return.](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markdown#Line_breaks).) But
that doesn’t seem to work here. Another alternative might be to use
\\
as markup for a line break.

line one line two line three
other notes
There are cases where a line is not the same as a paragraph.
Like addresses.
Ormond College 49 College Crescent Parkville Victoria 3052 T: 613 9344 1100
Or in verse where new line is distinct from new stanza.
old pond . . . a frog leaps in water’s sound <- end of stanza
at the age old pond a frog leaps into water a deep resonance
In both cases above, there are two problems: 1. The structure is not clear 2. Things take up more vertical space Other things being equal, (2) is not a good thing because it means less information fits on the page. In some cases, extra vertical space makes stucture clearer, but in these cases the extra space makes the stucture less clear — there’s no visual grouping of the separate lines that are really part of the one entity (e.g. an address “block”).
In fact, the source itself is in some ways clearer and more compact than the output (which I suppose is testament to the source syntax, but still…) http://i.imgur.com/piLyp6u.png
There’s also Verbatim text. ( That’s a little different — it wouldn’t need a markup code for line break.)
